Sadly, 5,000 teenagers are buried each year in unmarked graves, because they are either unidentified or unclaimed.
Each year, approximately 5,000 runaway and homeless youths die from assault, illness or suicide.
Some homeless youth are born into poverty and forced onto the streets. Others run away from home.
However they end up on the street, 1.6 million young people between the ages of
12-17 spend at least one night in an emergency shelter or on the street.
The next day, these kids struggle to find a place to eat, bathe and sleep.
On any given day in America, anywhere from 700,000 to 2 million people are homeless,
according to estimates of the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty.
One out of every 50 children, or approximately 1.5 million american children are homeless, they are america's youngest outcasts.
Approximately 40% of homeless men are veterans, although veterans comprise only 34% of the general adult male population.
The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans estimates that on any given night, 200,000 veterans are homeless, and 400,000
Veterans will experience homelessness during the course of a year.
